Continuing Education Credit Information

Because regulations and guidelines do change, it is a good idea to check for updates from your state, county, or city on a regular basis and always before registering for a specific course to make sure it will be acceptable for your license/certification renewal.

The Joint Commission Enterprise is accredited by the following continuing education organizations: 

Joint Accreditation | ACCME, ANCC, ACPE

The Joint Commission is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME - AMA PRA Category 1 Credits), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the health care team.

ACHE | American College of Healthcare Executives

Joint Commission is authorized to award pre-approved ACHE Qualified Education credit for programs toward advancement, or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in select programs wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit must self-report their participation. To self-report, participants should log into their MyACHE account and select ACHE Qualified Education Credit.

ABQAURP | American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians

The Joint Commission is authorized to award pre-approved ABQAURP Qualified Education credit for select programs that meet the Health Care Quality & Management (HCQM) exam eligibility requirements, or recertification requirements for ABQAURP Diplomates. Participants wishing to have JCR continuing education hours in select programs applied toward ABQAURP recertification credit should indicate their attendance when submitting application to ABQAURP.

CA Board of Registered Nursing

The Joint Commission is provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 6381 for the listed contact hours.

IACET | International Association for Continuing Education and Training

The Joint Commission is an authorized provider of continuing education units (CEUs) for select educational programs by The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). CEUs are accepted by many companies, boards, and organizations for specialty licenses and certifications. For further information about IACET, check the IACET website below. Participants are strongly encouraged to check with their specific state regulatory boards, employers, or other agencies to confirm that educational courses taken from The Joint Commission for IACET CEUs will be accepted.

ASCLS P.A.C.E

The Joint Commission is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® program. ASCLS P.A.C.E., 1861 International Drive, Suite 200, McLean, VA 22102. Check your program information to be sure the specific programs provide this type of credit.

Criteria for Successful Completion

  • Full attendance at every session is a prerequisite for receiving full continuing education credits.
  • Completion of program evaluation form.
  • NOTE: for Pharmacists, you will be required to provide your NAPB # and DOB (MM/DD).
