Leslie Krohn

Executive Vice President and Chief Brand and Communications Officer

Leslie Krohn is currently the Executive Vice President & Chief Brand and Communications Officer for The Joint Commission. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating all brand and communications activities across the Enterprise including brand strategy and management, corporate communications, public relations, and reputation management, aligning corporate marketing and communications efforts with The Joint Commission’s overall business goals.

Ms. Krohn has extensive experience in strategic, transformational communications leadership. Most recently, she served as the Chief Communications Officer at Argonne National Laboratory where she established Argonne’s first brand and messaging hierarchy to focus all communications activity for impact. Under Ms. Krohn’s leadership, innovative PR strategies drove high-profile coverage in leading business, national and trade publications, and she delivered a digital transformation to showcase the lab’s science via the website and social media. She received two Argonne Board of Governors Awards in 2020 for Leadership in Diversity & Inclusion and Safety during the pandemic.

Previously, Ms. Krohn served as the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Nielsen’s North America business where she drove the organization’s transformation from a traditional data supplier to a digital solution provider.

Ms. Krohn is a frequent speaker on communications leadership, building culture in remote/hybrid workplaces, and personal branding.

Ms. Krohn received a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University. She received a Bachelor of Arts (Summa Cum Laude) in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame.
