Facts about ORYX for ALC Program

  • The Joint Commission’s ORYX initiative integrates performance measurement data into the accreditation process.
  • ORYX measurement requirements support Joint Commission-accredited organizations in their quality improvement efforts.

The following sections provide the ORYX reporting requirements for the respective year and links to important resources and supporting material.

ALC Performance Measures

Joint Commission–accredited assisted living communities (ALCs) are required to report ORYX Performance Measurement data to The Joint Commission via the Direct Data Submission Platform (DDSP) on all measures for all four quarters effective 1/1/2024.

To improve the quality of life for residents, accredited communities will abstract standardized performance measures, which allows organizations to track the care provided to their residents and improve that care, where needed.
