Vice President and Mission Development and Organization Engagement Officer

Jason Miles is currently the Vice President and Mission Development and Organization Engagement Officer at The Joint Commission. In this role, he shapes the U.S. Business Development strategy and oversees U.S. Marketing and State and Payer Relations.

With a career of 20+ years in the healthcare and wellness industries, Mr. Miles has an intense passion to act as an advocate for patient safety and quality improvement, and is dedicated to healthcare equity and sustainability. He has held key leadership positions at renowned organizations as a Commercial and Operations Executive. Prior to joining The Joint Commission, he served as an Operating Executive with Woodson Equity, where he led diligence for their healthcare vertical. Earlier, he was the General Manager of Commercial Sales and Delivery at Abbott Diagnostics where he led the transformation of a Laboratory consulting business to an advanced Enterprise Digital Health start-up business. Prior to his tenure at Abbott, Mr. Miles was Vice President of Sales at IBM Watson Health, where his strategic vision and leadership were instrumental in creating a GTM strategy for the Watson Health Provider Business driving adoption of the first AI and ML technologies within Diagnostic Imaging, Clinical Trials Matching and Enterprise Business Insights. His accomplishments at IBM Watson Health solidified his reputation as a Commercial Leader at the forefront of healthcare innovation across several different businesses. Notably, he also held the position of Vice President of Sales at Merge Healthcare, a company later acquired by IBM Watson Health, known as the industry leader in the field of PACS, VNA, Universal Viewer, Image Sharing, and AI.

Throughout his career, Mr. Miles has held professional affiliations and memberships within HIMSS, HFMA, Beckers, AORN, AHA, JDRF, as well as other prestigious organizations joining the mission to improve patient care.

Mr. Miles received a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources with a Business Emphasis (Economics Focus) from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI.
