The reports are intended to be a springboard for conversations on performance measures and quality improvement during the survey process, as well as a guide to support an organization’s quality journey.

A new on-demand Pioneers in Quality Expert to Expert webinar is available on 2024 annual updates for the Perinatal Care (PC) -01, -05 and -06 electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs).
The webinar provides a deep dive into measure intent, logic, and other clinical/technical aspects of eCQMs to assist hospitals to improve data use for quality improvement. By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Navigate the eCQI Resource Center website to locate measure specifications, value sets, measure flow diagrams and technical release notes.
- Apply concepts learned about the logic and intent for the PC-01, -05, -06 eCQMs.
- Prepare to implement the eCQMs for the 2024 eCQM reporting period.
- Identify common issues and questions regarding the eCQMs.
The webinar is approved for 1.5 Continuing Education (CE) credits through Oct. 6. To earn credit, participants must:
- Individually register for the webinar.
- Finish the recording in its entirety.

A new, on-demand Accelerate PI™ webinar on engaging physicians in quality improvement is available for Continuing Education (CE) credit. The webinar — which was originally broadcast on July 26 — focused on physicians in the hospital and post-acute care settings. Please note: Participants that earned credit for the live broadcast are not eligible for credit for this on-demand version.
During the webinar, Dr. Bobby Redwood, a physician improvement advisor with the Wisconsin Hospital Association, presented strategies for engaging physician champions. The tools, resources, and examples described in the webinar are intended to assist organizations with taking the next step forward in their continuous journey of quality improvement to provide consistent, high-quality care for patients.
The learning objectives of the webinar are to:
- Describe the role of physician quality leaders in quality improvement initiatives.
- Recognize approaches that promote engagement vs. approaches that may cause physician leaders to withdraw.
- Identify strategies to counter resistance.

During the Hospital Executive Briefing, experts will share data-driven observations, trends, themes, and advice based on aggregate survey data and The Joint Commission leadership experience. Attendees will have access to the recorded sessions of the event until Nov. 21, 2023. Additionally, the Hospital CMS Update event will take place the next day on Sept. 21, 2023.

This 13-part series gives a complete overview of The Joint Commission’s Hospital Accreditation Program standards, chapter by chapter, including any changes or anticipated changes to the survey process. It was designed especially for hospital leaders and all staff involved in hospital accreditation, preparation, and survey readiness. During the series, subject matter experts from The Joint Commission — including surveyors, staff from the Standards Interpretation Group (SIG) and consultants — go over standards, elements of performance, expectations for survey, and lessons learned and best practices.
