Veterans Day Message from The Joint Commission

Wednesday, November 9, 2022

Dear Veterans and all those who are part of the Veterans and Military Service community:

This Veterans Day, on behalf of the entire Joint Commission family, I want to share our gratitude and say thank you to all of those who have and continue to serve our country. Each and every one of us is indebted to you for the sacrifices made by you and your families - sacrifices many of us can never fully understand. We also extend our appreciation to all those who are part of the Veterans community, including the healthcare workers and staff across the VA healthcare facilities who provide significant support to Veterans.

As part of our mission to continuously improve the quality of care provided to patients across every healthcare setting, we are deeply committed to the care Veterans receive. Having previously served as the United States Department of Veterans Affairs’ Under Secretary for Health, I am particularly aware of the health challenges that Veterans may confront in their lives. At The Joint Commission, we are dedicated to ensuring that the entire Veterans community receives the highest quality, and safest care possible. We are proud to be able to work with medical centers across the country to help them meet the healthcare needs of Veterans. Today, we reaffirm this commitment to all Veterans for their service to our country and for the sacrifices made, so that they and their families receive the best possible care.

With gratitude,

Jonathan B. Perlin, MD, PhD, MSHA, MACP, FACMI
President and Chief Executive Officer
The Joint Commission
