Journal study: Quality initiative reduces unnecessary IV antihypertensive use for patients with severely elevated blood pressure
A new study in the June/July 2023 issue of The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety details a quality initiative launched at New York City Health + Hospitals to reduce unnecessary intravenous (IV) antihypertensive use to treat severely elevated blood pressure (e.g., asymptomatic severe hypertension, also known as hypertensive urgency).
