The Joint Commission and Manchester Specialty Programs collaborate to provide insurance pricing benefits to eligible nursing homes and assisted living facilities
(MANCHESTER, New Hampshire and OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois, February 16, 2023) – Manchester Specialty Programs, Inc. and The Joint Commission today announced a new collaboration to provide insurance pricing benefits to Joint Commission accredited nursing homes and assisted living facilities, in addition to home care/hospice and medical staffing firms.
Manchester Specialty offers a broad range of business insurance coverage for the allied healthcare industry, backed by a select group of highly rated insurance carriers. An important advantage to Joint Commission accredited healthcare organizations working with Manchester is their ability to access this quality insurance program through their own local insurance agent or broker of choice.
Available coverage in its national program includes workers’ compensation, professional and general liability, as well as property, crime, non-owned auto, abuse coverage and cyber liability.
“We are pleased to provide eligible Joint Commission accredited nursing homes and assisted living facilities with valuable insurance premium savings – helping to offset the cost of accreditation,” said Bill Thompson, president of Manchester Specialty. “Accreditation is a very positive underwriting attribute, which can translate into eligibility and pricing advantages*, including schedule credits on workers’ compensation and professional liability insurance premiums.”
“We appreciate Manchester Specialty for recognizing the value of Joint Commission accreditation in helping to improve risk management through our performance improvement strategies and evidence-based standards,” said Brian Enochs, JD, executive vice president for Business Development and Marketing, The Joint Commission. “Both organizations are committed to highlighting a clear ‘crossroads of quality’ and recognizing nursing homes and assisted living facilities that are making efforts to improve patient safety and quality of care through accreditation.”
*Note: Each account must qualify on its own merit in the underwriting process, and where state regulators allow.
