National Quality Forum (NQF) Endorsed Nursing-Sensitive Care Performance Measures
The Implementation Guide for the National Quality Forum (NQF) Endorsed Nursing-Sensitive Care Performance Measures (Guide) provides detailed specifications for the 15 national voluntary consensus standards for nursing-sensitive care endorsed by the NQF in January 2004. The project to develop this guide was undertaken by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations through funding provided by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), with the guidance of an advisory panel which included the measure developers (for additional information please see the Introduction and Background section in the Guide). The Joint Commission is pleased to make this Guide publicly available for use by interested organizations.
NOTE: In January, 2007 the Joint Commission received funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to conduct testing of the NQF Endorsed Nursing-Sensitive Care Performance Measures. This testing, now completed, will involve updates to the Implementation Guide. However, specification changes will not be finalized and publicly available until needed modifications are completed. The updated specifications are coming soon to the measure reserve library.
Information is also available on the current National Quality Forum (NQF) Endorsed Nursing-Sensitive Care Performance Measures Project.
