Are over-the-door alarms required to be used on patient bedroom doors from the corridor?

The Joint Commission neither discourages nor promotes the use of these devices. If an organization chooses to use such devices, the organization must ensure the devices are installed, maintained, and tested per Manufacturer’s Instructions for Use.
