R3 Report Issue 11: Pain Assessment and Management Standards for Hospitals
Effective Jan. 1, 2018, new and revised pain assessment and management standards will be applicable to all Joint Commission-accredited hospitals. These standards — in the Leadership (LD); Medical Staff (MS); Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services (PC); and Performance Improvement (PI) chapters of the hospital accreditation manual — are designed to improve the quality and safety of care provided by Joint Commission-accredited hospitals.
