Exit Signage - Internal Illumination
Publish | January 01, 0001
What are the requirements for photoluminescent Exit signs?

NFPA 101 (2000 edition) 18/19/20/21.2.10 requires marking the means of egress in health care and ambulatory health care occupancies in accordance with 7.10. Photoluminescent Exit Signs, per 7.10.7, are categorized as internally illuminated signs, therefore the listing requirements in 7.10.7.1 are applicable, so UL 924 compliance and the stated lettering specifications are compliance requirements. Additionally, the requirements of 7.10.7.2 are applicable to Photoluminescent Exit Signs. Annex A provides additional information to assist in selecting a product. [LS.02.01.20, LS.03.01.10]
