Are environment of care management plans required for business occupancies?
While plans are required to cover each of the Environment of Care (EC) and Emergency Management (EM) chapters, the content of the organization's EC & EM plans and policies for those plans that address business occupancies should be designed to meet the needs of the organization. These will vary based on the nature and complexity of operations. Some standards may not apply to the business occupancy location at all, and this needs to be noted. The intent is to assure reasonable programs are in place and designed to meet the needs of the organization for all occupancies where patients are seen or treated. [EC.01.01.01]
