CMS Categorical Waivers - Water Flow Alarms
Publish | January 01, 0001
When is the CMS Categorical Waiver 13-58-LSC applicable to vane/pressure switch-type water flow alarms?

The Joint Commission will recognize CMS Categorical Waiver 13-58-LSC, where certain specific elements of the 2012 edition of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code are recognized. NFPA 25 (2011) 5.3 allows for the testing of vane-type and pressure switch-type water flow alarms to be tested semi-annually. The organization must strictly comply with the provisions of the CMS waiver document. NOTE: 13-25-LSC & ASC and 13-58-LSC became effective 08/2013. (see the Frequently Asked Question concerning proper invocation of a Categorical Waiver) [EC.02.03.05]
