When is the CMS Categorical Waiver 13-58-LSC applicable to electric motor driven fire pumps?
The Joint Commission will recognize CMS Categorical Waiver 13-58-LSC, where certain specific elements of the 2012 edition of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code are recognized. NFPA 25 (2011) 8.3 allows electric motor driven fire pumps to be tested monthly. All other aspects of the test remain the same. The organization must strictly comply with the provisions of the CMS waiver document. NOTE: 13-25-LSC & ASC and 13-58-LSC became effective 08/2013.
