The Joint Commission is in the process of developing a new requirement related to measuring pediatric weights in kilograms in the hospital and critical access hospital settings. As part of the development of this new requirement, The Joint Commission is seeking input from the field even if pediatric weights are not measured in kilograms in your organization.
Its emphasis is different from the Environmental Assessment Survey that was launched earlier this month which sought information about best practices related to measuring pediatric patients in kilograms. Please review the proposed requirement, and then provide comments using one of the methods listed below.
