Topic:
Contracts - Joint Commission Certification Required Elements
The contracts that we have with health care organizations are frequently written by the health care or third-party organization and as a result do not include all the elements prescribed by The Joint Commission certification. How can we meet the requirements when the health care organization will not modify the contract?
Any examples are for illustrative purposes only.
If the health care organization is unwilling to modify the language of the contract, the certified staffing firm may include the missing elements in an addendum to the contract or a policy statement. The addendum or policy statement must address all requirements at HSLD.5 and then be sent to the health care organization. This will need to be done each time the contract is updated or renewed. The staffing firm must maintain verification that the addendum/policy statement was sent to the health care organization.
