New and Revised Standards for Child Welfare Agencies
Effective September 13, 2020, The Joint Commission approved nearly 90 new and revised requirements related to child welfare services. These new and revised requirements address various areas related to child welfare and incorporate the latest research, leading practices, and federal regulations with the primary goal of improving quality and safety in these settings. In addition, The Joint Commission revised language in existing standards to be more inclusive of human services; the intent of these requirements did not change but the language was updated to reflect the humanistic perspective The Joint Commission already held on these standards.
