Sentinel Event Alert 9: Infant Abductions: Preventing Future Occurrences

This Sentinel Event Alert has been retired as of January 2015.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children provides guidelines to address infant abductions in health care facilities. Infant abduction is a sentinel event, as defined by The Joint Commission’s Sentinel Event policy, which requires organizations to conduct an immediate  comprehensive systematic analysis and respond to the event.
