Related National Patient Safety Goals
There are National Patient Safety Goals® (NPSGs) related to infection prevention and control (NPSG Goal #7) to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections. This goal includes expectations related to hand hygiene, multidrug-resistant organisms, central line-associated bloodstream infections, surgical site infections, and catheter-associated urinary tract infections.
