Recently, standards for The Joint Commission’s new advanced certification program for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement became effective. The program was designed to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of these services in hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers with the goal of fostering more cost-effective and safe, quality care.
