JCI holds first Patient Safety Grand Rounds
Jonathan B. Perlin, MD, PhD, president and CEO, The Joint Commission and Joint Commission International (JCI), and Dr. Neelam Dhingra, MBBS, MD, vice president and chief patient safety officer, JCI, led the inaugural JCI Patient Safety Grand Rounds on April 30, 2025. The session focused on challenges and opportunities in patient safety and included insights from international patient safety champion Sir Liam Donaldson. The recorded session is now available.
The Patient Safety Grand Rounds are part of JCI Patient Safety Pathways, a strategic initiative that aims to develop, strengthen, sustain and enhance patient safety policies and procedures with actionable plans, especially for organizations in the early stages of establishing quality infrastructure. The other components of the Pathways initiative are to develop a cadre of patient safety champions and to provide tailored technical support to select healthcare organizations from low- and middle-income countries.
The second session of the Patient Safety Grand Rounds, Diagnostic Safety: Importance of Clinical Reasoning and Role of Technology, will be held on June 25, 2025.
