During the public health emergency, the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) halted the requirement to count the volume of ventricular assist device (VAD) implants by surgeons. When that ends, however, on May 11, counting VAD implants by surgeons will resume.

The Joint Commission is seeking input on a draft candidate performance measure related to Timely Treatment of Severe Hypertension — Perinatal Care (PC) PC-08 — intended to enhance requirements for the Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care (ACPC) program.
The public comment period began on April 25 and will be open until May 23. The survey includes instructions, a review of the candidate measure, and a space to submit comments.
