By Gary Bachrach, Executive Director, Business Development, Home Care and Hospice Accreditation Programs
Manchester Specialty Programs, Inc., and The Joint Commission announced a new collaboration to provide insurance pricing benefits to Joint Commission-accredited home care and hospice organizations.
Per the agreement, Joint Commission-accredited healthcare organizations may qualify for a discount of up to 5% on their liability and workers comp insurance premiums by working with Manchester Specialty Programs. This is applicable where state regulations allow and based on each individual account.
Manchester Specialty offers a broad range of business insurance coverage for the home care and hospice industry, backed by a select group of highly-rated insurance carriers. Joint Commission-accredited organizations now can access this insurance program through their own local insurance agent or broker of choice. Manchester does not sell directly to clients. Available coverage in Manchester’s national program includes:
- workers’ compensation
- professional and general liability
- ·non-owned auto Insurance
- abuse coverage
- cyber liability
These insurance premium savings will offset the cost of accreditation, and in some cases, can cover the entire cost of accreditation. Since accreditation is an underwriting attribute, it translates into eligibility and pricing advantages, including:
- schedule credits on worker’s compensation
- professional liability insurance premiums
risk management through performance improvement strategies and evidence-based standards, and both organizations’ commitment to highlighting a clear ‘crossroads of quality,’ even in settings of above average risk.
