The Joint Commission is deleting six EPs related to Distinct Part Units (DPU) for critical access hospitals. The deletions are designed to streamline the program so that it addresses only those requirements that crosswalk to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Hospital Conditions of Participation.
These six EPs will be deleted from the Leadership (LD), Medical Staff (MS), and Rights and Responsibilities of the Individual (RI) chapters.
