Throughout the Expert to Expert series, The Joint Commission and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) received feedback that more in-depth content regarding the technical aspects of electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) clinical quality language (CQL) implementation were desired. The Joint Commission, CMS, Mathematica, and ESAC are partnering to host a webinar to offer this technically-focused content.

Joint Commission Pioneers in Quality eCQM Expert to Expert Webinar: ePC-01 and ePC-02

The Joint Commission continues to support hospitals on their journey towards electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) adoption and use for performance improvement. The 75-minute session on December 3 will address ePC-01- Elective Delivery & ePC-02- Cesarean Delivery and will include a review of measure logic, common issues, and a question and answer session. At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Apply concepts learned about the logic and intent for ePC-01 & ePC-02
2. Identify common issues and questions regarding ePC-01 & ePC-02 and
3. Prepare to implement the ePC-01 and ePC-02 measures for the 2020 eCQM reporting year (2021 data submission).

This webinar is approved for 1.0 Continuing Education Credit from: ACCME, ANCC, ACHE, California Board of Registered Nursing, and IACET. CE/CME/CEU Credits available for live audio only; credits not offered for webinar replays. To claim credit, you must

2)Listen to the entire live webinar. Only those listening live during the session will be eligible to receive credit. 
3)Complete a post-program evaluation/attestation. The program evaluation/attestation link will be sent to your registered email 24 hours after the webinar. For CE eligibility verification, you must use the identical email address used to register within the survey.

For those that meet the eligibility criteria for CEs, a link to a printable certificate will be sent via email 2 weeks after the session; all participant CE certificates will be sent at the same time.


Between late 2018 and July 2019, The Joint Commission and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) partnered on a series of eight Clinical Quality Language (CQL) webinars to assist hospitals implement CQL for electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) for 2019 reporting. The initial webinar session provided a high-level overview and the basics about CQL, while the next six sessions covered the specific CQL expression language and clinical logic for each active eCQM that hospitals are reporting in 2019.
