Joint Commission now offering advanced certification for total hip and total knee replacement

A new, optional advanced certification program for total hip and total knee replacement is now available from The Joint Commission for accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The program aims to address surgeries performed in hospital-based outpatient, ambulatory care and inpatient settings.

The prepublication standards are effective March 14, and the program will assist organizations with:

  • Providing a consistent approach to care that reduces the risk of error
  • Improving outcomes and customer satisfaction
