When considering eMeasurement, the most important consideration isn’t technology. Key to the entire eMeasurement process is understanding the clinician workflow and underlying structure or condition of the data. Gaps are present between the technology and the process. Informatics can help bridge that gap. Skills needed include understanding of data collection, storage, and extraction, in addition to an appreciation for the power of data to drive and inform practice.
