Any unsafe conditions found in the patient care areas are scored at EC. 02.06.01 EP 1.

Possible staff injuries and reduced evacuation of patients during an emergency situation.

Any unsafe conditions found in the patient care area may place patients at risk.  

Patients may be injured if the patient care area is not safe.

Patient injuries may extend the patient stay.

Frequent touring of the environment to ensure safe conditions identifies risk.

Environmental touring is an effective method to identify and correct unsafe conditions. Equipment must be inspected, tested, and maintained to ensure proper operation.
