At its May 7 meeting, the Accreditation Committee of the Board of Commissioners approved the following examples of sentinel events considered voluntarily reportable under the Joint Commission's Sentinel Event Policy as well as examples of sentinel event that are not considered reportable to the Joint Commission under the policy.
