Continuous Improvement

Evaluation research is an important focus of the Department of Research because of its importance to continuous improvement. The Joint Commission’s Evaluation Research Group uses qualitative and quantitative methods to carry out research activities such as systematically assessing program effectiveness, assessing outcomes of a specific intervention, or the impact of a product, program, or service on an organization or its stakeholders. Evaluation findings provide useful feedback that informs program developers of refinements that may be needed to better assist organizations with their improvement efforts and help inform decisions about future initiatives or strategic priorities.
