The Nursing Advisory Council, established in 2003, counsels The Joint Commission on present and evolving nursing- and patient care-related issues that are impacting health care quality and patient safety; shares perspectives on Joint Commission initiatives that may impact the nursing profession or patient care; and identifies ways in which the impacts of recent and planned future changes in the Joint Commission’s standards and accreditation process can be optimized relative to nursing and patient care.
