What is Accreditation?

Joint Commission accreditation can be earned by many types of health care organizations, including hospitals, doctor’s offices, nursing homes, office-based surgery centers, behavioral health treatment facilities, and providers of home care services.

What's the Word on Accreditation?

Joint Commission accreditation is focused on patient safety and better quality outcomes. Previously, we thought of it more as a necessary hurdle. Now, we view accreditation as an integral part of our continuous readiness efforts to drive sustained improvement.
