October 2009

NEW!  National Quality Improvement Goals Data
As of July 2009, National Quality Improvement Goal (ORYX) information for the reporting period January 2008 through December 2008 is available on the Quality Check website.   This update includes:

  • NEW!  Pneumonia Influenza Seasonal Measure Rates for October 2008 – March 2009 Flu Season
  • RETIRED MEASURE!   PN1-Oxygenation Assessment measure is retired and is no longer reported on Quality Check.
  • UPDATED!  HCAHPS Survey of Patients’ Hospital Experiences results available! The CMS HCAHPS reporting period is October 2007 through September 2008.
  • UPDATED! CMS 30-Day Mortality Measures File - The most updated CMS mortality data file available is as of June 8, 2009. The CMS 30-day mortality measure data reporting is for discharges July 2005 through June 2008.

  • NEW!   Children’s Asthma Care (CAC-3) Home Management Plan of Care (HMPC) Document Given to Patient/Caregiver rates now available!
  • UPDATED!   HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems) Survey of Patients’ Hospital Experiences results are available!  The data comes from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Hospital Compare Web site.  The CMS HCAHPS data reporting period is July 2007 through June 2008.
  • UPDATED! CMS 30-Day Mortality Measures File - The most updated CMS mortality data file available is as of March 31, 2009. The CMS 30-day mortality measure data reporting is for discharges July 2006 through June 2007.
