Calls For Participation
March 17, 2010

The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Project has two calls for participation:

Call for Performance Measures

The Joint Commission has initiated a project to identify, develop, and test a set of standardized performance measures to assess inpatient and Emergency Department care of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.  Funding for the project is provided through an unrestricted educational grant from Medtronic, St. Jude Medical, and Boston Scientific.  The funders have no role in the design and conduct of the project, or in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of the information and results from this work.  The content of the measures will be solely at the discretion of The Joint Commission.

This notice is to solicit candidate performance measures for review and evaluation by the Technical Advisory Panel for potential inclusion in the set of performance measures for Sudden Cardiac Arrest.  Candidate submissions can be structure, process, or outcome measures.  Any measure(s) adopted/adapted for inclusion in the measure set must reside in the public domain.

Call for Abstracts

The Joint Commission is now soliciting abstracts describing effective community-based programs, program implementation methods, or practices related to prevention or treatment of sudden cardiac arrest for possible inclusion in an educational monograph of effective community-based practices. Authors of abstracts selected will be contacted in late summer, 2010, to submit full manuscripts for incorporation into the monograph.  Funding for the project is provided through an unrestricted educational grant from Medtronic, St. Jude Medical, and Boston Scientific.  The funders have no role in the design and conduct of the project, or in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of the information and results in the final monograph.  The content of the monograph will be solely at the discretion of The Joint Commission.
