Meeting the needs of America's increasingly diverse population is an ongoing challenge for health care providers. Results from the Hospitals, Language, and Culture: A Snapshot of the Nation (HLC) study will serve as a foundation for setting realistic expectations for hospitals to provide the highest quality care to every patient served.
The HLC staff is working on several research projects to address the issues of language and culture and develop recommendations hospitals can implement to better meet patient needs. A summary of the HLC research projects is provided in the HLC Project Overview (September 2007).
