Long Term Care Accreditation Program
Dale Johnson is the executive director for the Long Term Care accreditation program at The Joint Commission. In this position, he is responsible for all accreditation activities related to long term care services, including the development of standards and survey processes. He also serves as the liaison to national and state trade and professional organizations.
Before joining The Joint Commission, Mr. Johnson was the chief executive officer and chief financial officer for a Kindred Healthcare facility in Ocala, Florida. He has also held positions as chief financial officer for Universal Health Services in Chicago, Illinois; chief operating officer of Franciscan Communities, a continuing care retirement community in Chicago, Illinois; and chief financial officer and chief operating officer of long term care, skilled nursing and acute care facilities for Vencor, Inc. in Michigan, North Carolina, and Virginia.
Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He has also taken advanced courses at the Chicago Kent School of Law and is in the process of pursuing his Juris Doctorate degree.
