Performance evaluation

Q. If the hospital where a staff has been assigned from a Joint Commission certified staffing firm completes a performance evaluation, is the staffing firm also required to complete a performance evaluation of the staff?

A. Yes, a performance evaluation must be completed by the staffing firm at the frequency defined by the staffing firm's policy, which must be at least every two years.  The staffing firm's performance evaluation may include information from the performance evaluation done by the health care organization to which the employee was assigned.
