Q. Can ACLS training count toward the eight hours of stroke continuing education?

A. The education needs to be specifically related to stroke and the total number of stroke specific material covered in ACLS may be only two hours.  The ACLS certification is valid for two years; however the hours for stroke education acquired through ACLS should be counted only for the year in which the certification was attained.
