The American Case Management Association (ACMA) and The Joint Commission announced, in November 2002, their formal recognition of an exceptional Hospital/Health System Case Management Service with the creation of the first "Franklin Award of Distinction." Benjamin Franklin was co-founder of the first organized hospital in the United States. His personal character, integrity and credibility as well as his notoriety as an entrepreneur and inventor represents the type of leadership and forward thinking required by the Hospital/Health System that wins this award.
