The Joint Commission provides outreach to the payer industry. These activities include outreach to insurance companies, health plans, firms offering consumer-directed health care programs and other insurance products and services.
Payer Relations efforts focus on:
- Increasing awareness in the payer community of Joint Commission products and services that promote quality and safety.
- Promoting greater use of Joint Commission accreditation and certification in insurance products and provider networks.
- Acting as a liaison and central communication point for payers, addressing their questions and directing them to appropriate resources at the Joint Commission.
