The Joint Commission places a high priority on developing and strengthening external relations with national, state and local associations, businesses and other organizations within the health purchaser community. The Joint Commission’s Division of Government and External Relations has developed initiatives that are the basis for strategic partnerships and building relationships with the purchaser community
Business Advisory Group
The Business Advisory Group is part of the Joint Commission long tradition of strategic partnership with accomplished business leaders. The Business Advisory Group is integral part of the Joint Commission’s advisory structure. By representing the views of a diverse group of national health care purchasers, business coalitions and other interests and by providing advice to the Joint Commission, the Business Advisory Group Members assist the Joint Commission in the development and refinement of new and existing accreditation and certification programs and patient safety and public policy initiatives. In addition, the Business Advisory Group provides observations regarding the environmental trends, educational needs and other important issues facing purchasers in each of the fields in which the Joint Commission offers accreditation and certification services.
