Liaison Network

The Liaison Network was established in 1992 to improve communications with health care professional groups.  The Liaison Network ensures that The Joint Commission receives important input when developing its services and products and helps maintain and strengthen the relationships between The Joint Commission and these organizations.

Today, over 230 professional organizations are involved in the Liaison Network.  The list of organizations remains fluid; organizations may be added or deleted over time.  The intent is to build relationships with organizations in the Network by sharing information about the quality and safety of patient care.  To facilitate the exchange of information, each organization has an assigned Joint Commission staff contact.  An Invitational Liaison Forum is held annually to inform members about the current Joint Commission initiatives and to solicit feedback from participating organizations on the latest trends affecting their organizations.  Throughout the year, Liaison Network members receive newsletters, field reviews, and informational materials to keep them up to date.  Liaison Network members are included in the Health Care Links section of the Joint Commission's Web site.
