The Joint Commission's Business Advisory Group, established in 1997, provides counsel on employer priorities in the evaluation of health care quality and assists the Joint Commission in identifying quality and safety issues important to employers. The 25-seat group meets several times each year and includes a cross section of individuals and coalitions representing businesses of varying sizes and different types of purchasing arrangements across the country.
