Associate Director, International Office - JCI

Administers and directs programs and activities that support the growth of Joint Commission International (“JCI”) in Middle East.  Works with the Managing Director to plan and implement strategies to integrate JCI into the health communities of the Area of Operation related to patient safety and health care quality. Assist with logistical support to consultant and surveyor staff when traveling in the Area of Operations (Area of Operations at the time of establishment of the position: Middle East, Northern Africa, Southwest Asia, and the South Asian subcontinent).

Requirements: The level of knowledge and experience equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of a Doctoral degree in a clinical or related discipline (MBBS or similar medical degree is considered equivalent).  Five or more years as a healthcare professional, providing patient care services. Five or more years of international experience in health care organizations, NGO’s, and/or not-for-profit agencies with a similar mission to JCI. Hands-on experience with one of JCI’s accreditation programs in a responsible capacity. Expertise as an international program manager and educator. Mature interpersonal skills with strong English written and verbal communication skills. Excellent relationship-building and business development skills. Ability to work independently, including strong computer skills and familiarity with work processing, graphic presentations, e-mail communications, and spreadsheet - work plan development. Reliability and dependability in meeting deadlines and project management. Results oriented with keen technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Reading and speaking fluency in Arabic highly desirable. Residence in or within commuting distance of the City of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (can be established after the job is taken). Possession of a valid passport and ability to obtain visas to travel to the United States as well as to countries within the Area of Operations is required. Travel to countries within the Area of Operations as assigned by the Managing Director for purpose of goals consistent with JCI’s corporate plan for the Area of Operations.  As many as three trips a month may be required. Travel to the U.S. once a year or more often, as required, to attend corporate meetings and continuing education. Light to moderate physical exertion may be required, such as establishing and taking down exhibit booths at professional meetings, transporting brochures and other educational materials, etc. Qualified candidates may contact ldragisic@jointcommission.org
